As President and Chief Executive Officer of Parents as Teachers National Center, she heads the resource base and backbone of Parents as Teachers, one of the nation's largest parent education and early childhood development program, serving parents throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Before heading Parents as Teachers National Center, Susan spent 20 years, including 12 years as executive director, with Edgewood Children's Center in St. Louis, Mo., a social service agency providing treatment, education and services to families and children. Susan holds a master's degree in business administration and social work and has a rich background of experience in human service, nonprofit management and public policy. Her charismatic approach to presentations encourages new strategies for nonprofit organizations and informs participants about advocacy and social trends concerning families.
